Workspaces

desk switch

Go to a workspace by name or prefix, or to the top of the current one.

Usage#

Terminal

desk switch [NAME]

NAME is a workspace name or a unique prefix. Leave it out to return to the top of the workspace you're in.

Examples#

Terminal

desk list # find a workspace
desk switch mis # misty-ember, if it's the only match
cd src/api
desk switch # back to the workspace root

An ambiguous prefix lists the matches and leaves you where you are.

Shell setup#

Run desk init once, then open a new terminal. A program cannot change its parent shell's directory, so switching uses desk's shell integration.

For scripts without integration:

Terminal

cd "$(desk info mis --path)"
