desk amp
Copy or follow an Amp task in a fresh local workspace.
Usage#
Usage
desk amp [THREAD] [--copy|--follow] [--repository REPOSITORY]Arguments and modes#
| Argument or flag | Behavior |
|---|---|
THREAD | Thread URL or ID. Omit it to browse recent tasks. |
--copy | Apply a snapshot via amp sync --apply; leave the work locally to edit. |
--follow | Follow live changes in the foreground; stopping restores the pre-sync checkout. |
--repository REPOSITORY | Explicit clone source when thread repository metadata is missing or insufficient. |
Omit both mode flags to choose interactively. Use only one mode flag. desk automatically creates a fresh independent clone from thread metadata or the explicit repository fallback; it does not reuse your existing workspaces.
Requirements and limits#
- Git and an installed, authenticated Amp CLI are required.
- Copy and live sync include uncommitted and unpushed work without pushing.
- Dependencies, services, and secrets are not replicated.
- Follow owns the checkout: don't edit locally. Use
desk switch NAMEin a separate terminal to run setup and tests while the foreground sync continues.
